Jessica's understanding of Citizen Journalism

Recently, I suddenly found I am so so so "Old" that I still stop and enjoy in printing time.

Usually I read newspapers in the morning and watch TV news at night time. I am not a high technology person that's why internet just separate my less time before.

With the techology growth fast, people are not only receiving or seeking news on that kinds of olf style function-newspapers. They love internet and appreciate spend time with computers.

There is so surprised this semester i will have my own blog and sharing the interesting things surrond me. Welcome to my BLOG and I appreciate to share the feeling together^_^...

Citizen Journalism:
My understanding of the term Citizen Journalism is that public people are provide some photos, videos and written news pieces on evolving stories. Citizen Journalism has put democracy back in people in capitalism society. An army of individuals with digital cameras, mobile phones and blogs is replacing the traditional media as a wide-ranging source of information. This power from the base society is so strong and never prevent...

Mainstream media only have one way to present with their audience and there is no way to give feedback. On the other hands, participatory journalism, finds its strength in continuous, ongoing validation process operate by a large community. In here, You can share your opinion, no matter agree or disagree with what is being said by the website. This is why called participatory Journalism.

Participatory Journalism:
The act of a citizen, or group of citizens, playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing and disseminating news and information. The intent of this participation is to provide independent, re;oan;e, accirate, wide-ranging and relevant information that a democracy requires.
